Story Behind the Drawing: Barn owls have many rituals, but none is more important than tea time at twilight. While some owls take their tea at daybreak, to settle in for a long day of sleep, barn owls drink tea at dusk to help focus their minds for the night of hunting ahead. Their favorite brew is a cider tea, created with cinnamon, ginger roots, cardamom, orange peel, and a hint of chocolate for good measure. Should you find yourself walking through the forest and smell the sweet aroma of cinnamon, look up into the treetops. You may spot a sacred tea brewing area, complete with teapots and cups galore hanging from the a tree’s twisting branches.
