Stolzl Lambswool Large Blanket - Seal

A large throw, woven in merino lambswool, made in the style of Gunta Stolzl's designs from the 1920s in Germany. This multicolored wool blanket features red and blue as its prominent colors. Wallace Sewell. Dyed and spun in Yorkshire, UK. 

In 2019, as part of the Bauhaus centenary celebrations, Wallace Sewell were authorised to create a re-edition of Gunta Stölzl’s original ‘Prellerdecke’ blanket.  The project was initiated by Jörg Klambt, founder of Designshop at Bauhaus Dessau; where in 1926, the first Prellerhaus blankets were made in the weaving workshops.  The original design having been lost, Wallace Sewell have realized and recreated the design, with help from Gunta Stölzl’s daughter, Monika Stadler, and archive drawings and photographs. 

YARN - 100% merino lambswool, from Australia and South Africa. Dyed and spun in Yorkshire, UK.  

MANUFACTURE - Fabric woven in Lancashire, UK.

DIMENSIONS - 56" x 96" - Please note all items are hand finished and sizes can vary by +/- 5%.

The Block throw collection is woven with sumptuous merino lambs wool and felted to create a super soft, inviting quality.

Each throw is beautifully finished with blanket stitches, which adds an extra tactile detail to all its edges.  These bold and contemporary designs make a colourful and uplifting addition to any bedroom or sofa.
